INTRO

En esencia

w/ Inma Soria

An architect and interior designer, the Valencian native better known as @coohuco invites us to discover her preferred styles in the world of fashion, art and architecture.

VESTIDO

Inma Soria is 38 years old and has an unassuming air, an elegant discretion and that smile and positivity that make her so approachable. Her restless spirit means she loves to experiment and to produce work in the fields of construction, interior design, furniture design and even jewellery, any expression of fashion and art.

We are attracted to Inma's naturalness applied to all facets of her life. Her relaxed way of dressing, her healthy routine and the slow design philosophy she puts into practice in all her projects.

There's a lot of "you" in our collection. How would you describe your style?

"The ADN collection reflects my style a lot. I like practical clothes which are stylish but simple, with no ornate frills, that feminine yet minimalist touch. Straight cuts, natural fabrics, soft colours. I like to have basic garments that are easy to combine with each other, that have that touch of quality that makes a simple white T-shirt special.

I like to feel that I'm the one wearing and showing off the clothes, rather than the clothes wearing me".

Sustainability, well-being and balance were the guiding principles behind our ADN collection. Your interior design projects contain many common links. Tell us about your style applied to design and how you approach each project.

Most of my projects, both in construction and interior design, involve homes, and so must provide harmony, balance and calm. I feel comfortable creating spaces, as well as works of art, where natural colours and materials predominate: sandy tones, off-white, terracotta, fabrics such as cotton or linen and wood or natural stones. Spaces which are bright but warm at the same time. I strive for quality without pretensions.

“The culture of life, the art of living”. As someone who works in architecture, I'm sure our seasonal motto resonates with you. What do you value in your everyday life, how do you spend your free time and how do you connect with the city?

What I like most is the light and the climate. It's a privilege to have them. I love strolling through the centre, going for tapas in the old town, playing sports or walking along the river, a large garden full of vegetation that traverses the city and, of course, the beach, enjoying an aperitif just a few meters from the seashore, any day of the year.

"It's difficult to make a short list of my favourite spots, because I'm sure I'd leave some out... Here are some of my essentials:

1. Lately, I really like to go for breakfast or coffee on the terrace of Glasol - the croissants never fail - or in Mercado Colón, where the architecture is beautiful and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

2 .I love going for a walk and some tapas in the Carmen neighbourhood, doing some shopping in the Mercado Central, having some anchovies and razor clams in Tasca Ángel or having dinner in La Baqueta restaurant.

3. In the Gran Vía area, where I often need to go for work, I love meeting friends at El Guiño, having toast with smoked sardines, grilled baby squid and a tapa of cold meats and cheeses, or oysters at Ostras Pedrín. One of my favourite restaurants that I would recommend for dinner is Bouet, where the best thing is to go with the chef's recommendations. It's a restaurant that never fails to surprise.

4. A good plan for Saturdays is to enjoy the sun and the beach, sunbathe on a terrace and then have a bite to eat at Casa Montaña, a very old restaurant in the neighbourhood of El Cabañal, where the sardines are a typical dish, although everything is delicious, and then some live music at the Fábrica de Hielo.

5. And on Sunday, like a good Valencian, I'll often eat a rice dish or paella in El Palmar, in el Racó del Arrós or in Cañas y Barro, for example, or in the Huerta area, in the restaurant El Brosquil. However, and even though it's not one of the most beautiful locations, my favourite restaurant is Marenostrum in Perellonet, an area where I have been spending my summer holidays ever since I was a child. And on the way back to the city, make a stop at La Albufera and watch the incredible sunsets reflected in the water.

6. But if what I want is to disconnect from the city, my favourite area is Moraira; just the smell of sea and pine makes you feel like you are on holiday. Beaches of rock and crystal-clear water, walking trails along cliffs, beach bars right on the beach... Perfection!
