Here are Paula's snacks, experiences and essential corners of Madrid to survive a winter in the capital.
1. Go shopping in the Salamanca district and top it off with a coffee and your favorite avocado toast at Cristina Oria.
2. I love the Retiro and Puerta de Alcalá area where I can have a cappuccino in the institution that is the Capuccino Grand Café, and end up having dinner at Aarde or Bribón de Madrid – a great plan for a fun night with friends.
3. If I want to get lost until I find a good book and vintage shops, I would wander through the Justicia neighborhood, between Barquillo and Fernando VI streets. They have a thousand special, charming, places, such as Roots for the best coffee and banana bread, Café Neutrale for the best toast, La Duquesita for incredible tea cakes… Don't miss out, this is a highly recommended area ; )
4. The TASCHEN bookstore in Madrid is amazing.
5. My restaurants... This is a tricky one! I would have to say Numa Ponpilio, Taberna Pedraza, Carbon Negro, and Fismuler. And Casa Dani do the best tortillas...
6. The best perfumes and cosmetics store is Abanuc. Apart from having the best products, it's beautiful.
