We tour Madrid with Paula Cremades

"Madrid is beautiful at this time of year."

The colder months are giving way to a stimulating, renewing and Spring-fresh city. We discuss the new season with Paula Cremades, a fashion lover from Alicante who styles her life in the capital with casually formal looks, with subtle hints of colour that underline the imminent arrival of a new season.

The new season is the perfect excuse to adapt the trends of the new season. An extra touch of colour, a renewed trench coat, maybe just a new way to wear that blazer. It's those little details that give a twist to what is, on the surface, a winter style.

Paula's confidence, her sincere smile and her clear ideas captivated us. She recounts how she moved to the capital to pursue her passion for fashion professionally. After completing her Bachelor's degree and a specialisation, she now works both in a communications agency, and in content creation.

"My perfect look in winter is a combination of simple and timeless pieces. I love to play with overlapping styles: jeans, a basic white or neutral coloured sweater, a wool blazer and a trench coat. As for accessories, a black leather bag and a hat with a scarf to fight the cold in Madrid."

"I love Madrid in winter. Strolling through any corner of the city, walking forever, discovering incredible places every day. I miss the beach in Alicante, and I know that I cannot live far from the sea, but I am making the most of my time in Madrid."

Here are Paula's snacks, experiences and essential corners of Madrid to survive a winter in the capital.

1. Go shopping in the Salamanca district and top it off with a coffee and your favorite avocado toast at Cristina Oria.

2. I love the Retiro and Puerta de Alcalá area where I can have a cappuccino in the institution that is the Capuccino Grand Café, and end up having dinner at Aarde or Bribón de Madrid – a great plan for a fun night with friends.

3. If I want to get lost until I find a good book and vintage shops, I would wander through the Justicia neighborhood, between Barquillo and Fernando VI streets. They have a thousand special, charming, places, such as Roots for the best coffee and banana bread, Café Neutrale for the best toast, La Duquesita for incredible tea cakes… Don't miss out, this is a highly recommended area ; )

4. The TASCHEN bookstore in Madrid is amazing.

5. My restaurants... This is a tricky one! I would have to say Numa Ponpilio, Taberna Pedraza, Carbon Negro, and Fismuler. And Casa Dani do the best tortillas...

6. The best perfumes and cosmetics store is Abanuc. Apart from having the best products, it's beautiful.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am defined by neutral tones, like beige, vanilla, and ecru. Although I'm also developing a penchant for navy blue. It is very flattering and not quite so formal as black."

"I am very into wardrobe basics, timeless garments and inherited pieces. Winter clothing is very special to me, to combine garments and fabrics, from a knitted sweater to a fur coat or printed blazer."

"Since I was young, my mum has dressed me in eseOese. We have always identified with the brand. The collections are wearable, versatile and timeless, especially the knitted sweaters, the jeans and the blazers. You won't go far wrong when dressing with these pieces at any time of the year."

See you in the capital!

Paula.
