Carla Nicieza is elegance, delicacy, and the Mediterranean. A curiosity for objects, color, and space, combined with a desire to surround herself with beauty, led her to study design and art in the cities of London and Barcelona.
The artist, settled once again in Mallorca, has made it possible for autumn to fit onto a canvas with her interpretation of Le Field, our latest collection, where we revisit the classics to return to the essential with a fresh perspective.
“My father and my grandfather have always painted... I grew up in a very creative environment. Since I was little, I could spend hours painting, and to this day, it is still what I love doing most.”
Carla says her creative process is quite routine; in her studio, she checks her habit list, prepares tea or coffee, sets out paper and paints, lights incense, and puts on soft music. At this point, she turns to her reference archive for inspiration: photos of objects from her travels, books, Pinterest…
“My favorite part is feeling present and calm. I experience it like a meditation: being alone and working with my hands.”
For Carla, fashion and art work together as forms of expression. From a very young age, she would be mesmerized by magazines and sewing small dresses for her dolls. "Today, it is a dream to be able to work in both fields."
